Day Two - JC Spring Training

Lake Buena Vista, FL - Despite solid pitching, John Carroll dropped a decision to Providence Day School (NC) at 11:30 AM on
Saturday. Early-season errors plagued the Patriots for one inning, which was enough to keep the team out of the win column.

Saturday started with a batting tunnel session and extra hitting practice. The Patriots hit the field again at 5PM to face Episcopal High School of Alexandria, VA.

Friday March 16th at Spring Training

Lake Buena Vista, FL - On Friday The John Carroll Baseball Team opened it's Spring Training schedule with a 8:30 AM practice at Disney's Wide World of Sports' Hess Fields Complex. While Bel Air, MD was closing schools 2 hours early due to inclement weather, the Patriots had a full practice under sunny skies and 70 degree temperatures.

The day was not over as the Patriots battled Avalon School and The Ontario Prospects in two evening unofficial games. John Carroll dropped a 3-2 decision to Avalon in a game shortened by time limit, though 6 Patriots each got one inning of work on the mound.

Sean St. Clair and Kyle Van Beek led the way at the plate against a very strong Avalon pitching staff.

In the second game the Patriots's bats came alive scoring 5 runs in the second inning and the Prospects could never recover. Christian Wolfe led the way going 3 for 3 at the plate.

Alex Roche pitched 4 strong innings on the mound against a well-disciplined Prospects club. Ben Schlehr and Wolfe pitched solidly in relief, rounding out the Patriots' 8 - 3 victory.
